CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Earlier today, Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders visited the offices of New Hampshire Secretary of State Bill Gardner and registered as a Democrat. Bernie had to do that in order to get on the February 9 Democratic presidential primary in The Granite State, which prides itself, every four years, in making presidential wannabes traipse through the cold and snow, meeting all 1,326,813 residents in person in town hall meetings, pharmacies, post offices, wherever an adult might be found, and telling them what they want to hear.
As a solitary reporter observed the Independent Senator from Vermont enter Gardner’s office, he noticed thousands of Bernie supporters chanting, “Don’t do it, Bernie! Don’t do it!”
The solitary reporter and associate solitary reporter Lewis Thompson were baffled, but they soon found out why the protest was taking place.
It seems that the proud Lefties were upset with Bernie for abandoning his principles.
“I have a lot of problems with the Democratic Party,” one of them said. “They’re not Socialists. This is the first time in Bernie’s 74 years that he has registered as a Democrat.”
“I feel absolutely, totally betrayed,” another said.
But Sanders’ campaign manager, Jeff Weaver, spoke to the fired up crowd, saying, “Forget about the Socialist label. We’ve got to win this thing.”
