Today, the House Impeachment Inquiry team is receiving testimony from Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman.
Colonel Vindman was born in 1975 in Ukraine, in a Jewish family, when Ukraine was Ukrainian SSR, part of what was then the Soviet Union; and, when he was three years old, with his twin brother Yevgeny and his older brother and his father, he left Ukraine for
“Little Odessa” in Brooklyn. He’s received the Purple Heart for bravery while serving the United States of America.
In 2004, he was wounded by a roadside bomb, for which he received the Purple Heart (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Vindman).
Along with many other Trump Administration officials, Col. Vindman was listening to Donald Trump’s July 25 phone call with then newly-elected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In his Opening Statement, for his testimony today before the House Impeachment Inquiry, he testified that, as a patriotic American and a military officer, he became very concerned when he heard Trump demand that Zelensky open an invesigation into Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, as a pre-condition for receiving desperately needed military aid (https://www.politico.com/news/2019/10/28/vindman-testimony-trump-national-security-000305); and https://www.npr.org/2019/10/28/774256868/read-ukraine-expert-lt-col-alexander-vindmans-opening-statement?utm_source=npr_newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=20191029&utm_campaign=news&utm_id=41884982&orgid=; https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/impeachment-inquiry-10-29-2019/index.html.
Enter former GOP Congressman Sean Duffy (R-Wisconsin), who told CNN’s John Berman that because Colonel Vindman was born in Ukraine, Vindman automatically puts Ukraine first, and not the United States, of which he has been a citizen for many years now (https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2019/10/29/duffy-berman-spar-over-vindman-loyalty-newday-vpx.cnn/video/playlists/this-week-in-politics/).
CNN’s Berman completely refuted Duffy’s claim, as Duffy was, no doubt, trying to land a job in Trump’s White House.
Donald Trump’s method of operation has always been to attack anyone who threatens him.
And Team Trump, including Duffy (a CNN contributor) is now attacking Col. Vindman, suggesting that, because he is Ukrainian American, he’s a double agent (https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/29/politics/alexander-vindman-testimony-republicans/index.html).
Associate solitary reporters Johanna Jones, Mellisa Smith, and Lewis Thompson are all watching developments very closely as they unroll, and associate solitary reporter Keith Coleman, a longtime resident of our Nation’s Capital, is poised at any moment to announce that Trump has resigned, and that former Indiana conservative talk show host Mike Pence has returned to Indiana with his wife, Karen, having abdicated his position as Trump’s Number Two, thus paving the way for Nancy Pelosi to complete the unexpired term of the current occupant of the Oval Office.
