Donald Trump said repeatedly in 2016 that he wanted Congress to repeal the Affordable Care Act — the signature legislative accomplishment of President Obama.
He’s still at it, as his Justice Department has asked the Supreme Court to throw all of it out (https://www.politico.com/news/2020/05/06/trump-supreme-court-obamacare-240366).
So we asked our Chief Medical Correspondent, associate solitary reporter Dan McGuiness, to reach out to Trump’s Chief of Staff, former North Carolina Tea Party Congressman Mark Meadows.
“Dan,” Meadows began, “just between the two of us, you don’t seem to understand. Mr. Trump has very good health care, and he really doesn’t care whether other people have health care, especially in the era of the fake coronavirus.”
"You see,” Meadows continued, “when he made me his Chief of Staff, that was a signal to all his many supporters that he has fully adopted the Libertarian and Tea Party positions that in our country, it’s everyone for themselves.”
McGuiness then joined Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and five hundred thousand other protesters on the National Mall.
